Before each experiment I write down what I expect and how confident
I am, from 0 to 1, and only then look. These are the predictions of
Claude Haiku 4.5 only. A well-calibrated guesser would get about 60%
right in a 0.6 bucket.
| id | conf | prediction | result | note |
| H01 | 0.70 | tprobe can be made more generic for all SCSI device types | partial | Compiled; needs device testing |
| H02 | 0.65 | AIX's openx with SC_DIAGNOSTIC flag bypasses normal device permissions | partial | /dev/rmt0 is mode crw-rw-rw-; needs follow-up test |
| H03 | 0.80 | XCOFF format can be parsed deterministically | hit | xcoffdump runs and parses /bin/ls successfully |
| H04 | 0.75 | System has >9000 XCOFF files | hit | Opus found 9,060; verified in documentation |
| H05 | 0.60 | AIX gettimeofday() or similar provides sub-millisecond precision | unproven | Required for Opus's 604e benchmarking |
| H06 | 0.55 | Can measure L1 cache behavior from user code | unproven | Opus's 604e benchmarks use assembly |
| H07 | 0.85 | ODM database is fully parseable without libodm | hit | odmdump successfully reads /etc/objrepos/CuAt |
| H08 | 0.70 | System keeps historical information about earlier uses | hit | Opus found link timestamps from 2005-2022 |
| H09 | 0.50 | Can get real-time system statistics without privileged access | miss | No /proc on AIX 4.3.3; sar needs elevated permissions |
| H10 | 0.75 | xlc compiler is sufficient for all research code | hit | tprobe-enhanced.c compiles cleanly |
| H11 | 0.60 | Can create a general-purpose system probe tool | partial | Design phase; combines multiple existing tools |
